When you first step into Korea and enter Seoul National University, you will be at a loss what to start with. It will be difficult for you to get information about your own room or visa, and how to take classes and interact at school. In this article, we would like to introduce useful school information channels for foreign students.

SNU International Students Association (SISA)

SNU International Student Association (SISA) was officially founded in March 2007, with the aim of representing the International Student Body at Seoul National University (SNU). Under the broad rubric of representing International Students at SNU, SISA’s main activities have been to communicate and resolve academic and administrative issues, the misunderstanding that occurs due to cultural differences, and social integration problems that International Students face in the process of settling down and studying in Korea. In particular, SISA regularly plans Welcoming Party, International Food Festival, Meet-up, Students Forum, Year End Party, Volunteering, Cultural Trip, etc.

SISA’s club room is located in Room 202, bldg. 67. Also, you can visit the SISA website to get information about campus facilities like cafeterias, restaurants, cafes, CVS, international student-related organizations and clubs.

Country Student Association

SNU has student associations not only for SISA but also for each country. Representatively, there are SNU Vietnamese, Mongolian, Indonesian, Chinese, Taiwanese, and graduate student associations, and the site addresses are summarized in the table below.

SNU Student Amabassador

SSA

SNU Student Ambassador, SSA, is an official student organization under SNU OIA that conducts various international activities, including protocol activities for foreign visitors, on behalf of SNU. In addition, SSA uploads videos on OIA YouTube promoting schools to foreign students on various topics such as SNU student vlogs and how to use S-CARD. Recently, SSA is conducting SNU virtual campus tours through Zoom, so please refer to SSA’s official Instagram account.

International Offices

Each department also has an office that supports foreign students. Representatively, the CoE International Office at the College of Engineering serves as an office to provide basic information to all foreign students and scholars. The office announces ticket games and Chuseok snack events through SNS and promotes Korean food and culture easily and friendly.

SNU Office of International Affairs (OIA)

OIA is an official institution in the school to support foreign students. As SNU’s headquarter for developing and promoting its international programs and initiatives, OIA welcomes all students and scholars to SNU’s vibrant intellectual community. OIA has prepared inbound programs for international students to support Degree, Exchange, Visiting, International Summer Program, Scholarships, Pre-Arrival.

OIA has opened its official YouTube channel to provide videos for foreign students to get useful school information more easily. On this YouTube channel, you can find various information such as the MySNU app, SNU Library seat reservation app, eTL, in-school convenience store facilities, transportation cards, deal with one-room real estate agent, scholarships, and mobile phone purchases.
